I really like Erick Scarecrow's Old Skool Kaiju Dizign vinyl figure and decided to try to make my own budget version. Here's how the vinyl figure looks:
I looked through my box of miniatures for something similar and selected a miniature from this miniature set for a tv show called Code Lyoko. I've never seen the show, but picked up the set a few months ago on clearance at Toys R Us. If you'd like to buy the "Code Lyoko PVC Mini Figure Set Sector 1: Ice Battle Scene," Amazon has it here. I used the figurine you can (barely) see at the bottom right of this photo:

The character is some kind of cat boy. I scraped off his tail, cut off his arms at the elbows and reattached them, and cut down his pointy head. I then added green stuff.
Here's the miniature painted. Seeing it blown up like this I realize the paint needs to be cleaned up in various spots, but you get the idea:

Meanwhile, if you want to buy the real thing, you should be able to find one here.

Action Figure: Marvel Legends Style Zero Suit Samus
During the rare occasions I've had free time in greater than 15 minute blocks, I worked on this Marvel Legends-style Zero Suit Samus action figure. I removed the hair from a Marvel Legends Emma Frost action figure and sculpted new hair with green stuff. You can see the original figure and the unpainted hair here. I used an X-Acto knife and sandpaper to scrape off details like her belt. And then I repainted the figure with acrylic paints.

I made this collage out of various images I found on the web and used it for reference:

Mystery Action Figure Work In Progress
I started a new customized action figure yesterday, using a Marvel Legends Diamond Emma Frost (if she's made of diamond, then why are her eyes painted?). Anyone want to guess what I'm working on?
Here's Emma.
Here's Emma's cape and hair. Her cape simply unsnaps in front. I removed her hair by peeling it away from her scalp and then using an X-Acto knife to sever it from back of her skull.
And here's the figure with its new hairstyle (made out of green stuff).

Any guesses?
